Mother Nature Rocks Our World - a lot

Ok - this is day 2 of knowing we're pregnant and I'm pretty freaking excited (5 weeks). It's been a hellish few days after the insane 12/14 windstorm with 70-80 mph gusts that blew down many trees onto roads and power lines. http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/local/296085_winda15ww.html We had flash floods, high tides, etc, it was a WILD night. Being from the mid-west it reminded me of a tornado, but it lasted longer and was in some ways more violent. Power was knocked out around the Sound, millions of houses actually - we're still without power (and heat) and after 4 days I finally convinced Tyler to take us to Hotel Monaco with Roxie for tonight. I'm enjoying being back on my computer, watching some TV, taking a warm bath and just generally being warm.
How we found out we were pregnant is inextricably linked with this windstorm. Baby Bob has one heck of a story waiting for when he/she gets here. We had friends over Friday night after the storm. The whole thing was very romantic the first night -we had candles, I made stew (gas still worked) and there was some residual heat in the house and hot water in the tank. We had some wine, laughed, played games - it was really fun! After some fun and games, Tyler decides to head out with the crew to Georgetown which happened to be one of the only areas with power and thus a bar. I decided not to go and for some reason, I decided to take pregnancy test. Just to clarify, I take them all the time for no reason but to prove to myself I can't get pregnant. We've been trying to conceive for a year and a half, so this is like sick fun for me. Suddenly, there I am with a very faint second line, tilting it back and forth in the candle light not sure if I'm seeing things or not. I went to bed praying that there was ANY Walgreens was open the next day. As it happens, it was one of the only stores in Burien with power - I bought a Clearblue 3 pack and took all of them. Lo and behold - a resounding positive on all three. I told Tyler, who was hung over and dumb founded and then cried. It was all very exciting. Now all those weird food aversions made sense - why I almost threw up when I smelled fish or tasted sushi...well I'm so excited I can't stand it. I feel wonderful and just pray that I keep this one through first trimester.

Welcome baby bob- I love you already.
